High Heel Shoes Can Cause Bunions
High heel shoes are so fun to wear. You can wear them with so many different outfits. Wear them with a pair of jeans on a semi casual date or with a fabulous skirt to a formal event. High heel shoes help give you shape to your leg and increase your height. The only problem with high heels is that they often times make your feet hurt. So at a time when you should be excited wearing high heel shoes, you dread having sore feet afterwards. But don't throw out your high heels just yet, there is hope in finding comfortable high heel shoes.
Recent studies show that wearing high heels contirbutes to bunions. With the fashion of wearing high heels of 4 inches, this steep angle increases pressure on the toes and balls of your feet. With this pressure, pain is created and bunions are created or worsened. Don't worry, you don't need to go throw away all of your cute pumps.
There are ways to decrease the pressure on the toes and ball of the foot. The main way to decrease would be to decrease the angle of the foot. You don't have to compromise the height of the heel to decrease the angle of your foot. All you have to do to decrease the angle of your foot and keep the same heel height is, increase the sole height. If you increase the sole height to one inch, this would decrease the angle of your foot. Now a four inch heel would be like wearing a 3 inch heel.
Here's another tip. Many people buy shoes that make their toes hurt or numb. This is an obvious sign that the shoes are too tight. Buying shoes hoping that they will stretch after a few wears is very risky. They may or may not stretch. If they don't, you are stuck with a pair of shoes that make your feet hurt, resulting in never wearing them.
Here is a quick trick on helping you find the perfect fit for your ladies shoes. If a shoe is too wide and there isn’t a narrower width available, try the shoe in a half size smaller. If a shoe is too narrow and there isn’t a wider width available, then try the shoe in a half size bigger.
